Condoms are not one hundred percent effect against preventing fertility. The condom could always break or have a tear. Read the instructions printed on the inside of the box for proper condom use.

Also, consider getting a spermicide or even the morning after pill. Both are very affordable, the pill though, requires a visit to the doctor or Planned Parenthood.

Yep.

Condoms are 97% effective. So three couples out of every hundred, using condoms as their only birth control method, will get pregnant per year.

If the condom tears, breaks, or slips off, the chances of pregnancy are high.

To increase effectiveness, pair it with another type of birth control, such as a spermicidal foam or the Today Sponge (both available over-the-counter). Do that and the effectiveness jumps to more than 99%. But don't just get 'spermicidal condoms'. That spermicide is not enough to kill anything. Get the foam instead.

OR try using the female condom instead. They are less likely to tear, thicker, and less porous ... thus they have a lower failure rate.

Yes, there is always a percentage of a chance that you can get pregnant. Even if you have a condom on there is always a chance for human error or manufacturer error in making the condom. I believe there is something printed on the box that states no protection is 100%.

Some condoms can break, ive seen women (including myself) fall pregnant while taking the pill, diaphragms are uncomfortable and the sperm can still get through any gaps between the vaginal wall and the diaphragm itself. Spermicides are hopeless, female condoms arent 100% fool proof.

As you can see, every single invention out there to prevent pregnancy has a failure rate. It depends on you on what type of protection you need or want to prevent it from happening.

Yes you can. If the condom breaks or if the condom is not used properly.

To the answer higher up, you CAN reduce your risk of gettin HIV?AIDS with a condom, but only using birth control will not block them. If you are using birth control, make sure you still use a condom for HIV/AIDS/STDS.

H*** yeah you can, My second child was conceived while using condoms. Sorry to say that nothing is 100% effective, I know three women who got pregnant after they had their tubes tied, now that's scary.
