Hey, We have the same taste in music, I have noticed that in 1 of the questions I answered from yours. Any way I have Slash as 1 of my best guitarist, but a I would say that Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath is also up there.
Oh how can I forget about Jimmy Page and Jimmy Hendrix? What legends... Its hard to pick a #1, these guy are masters.

All of these amateurs talking about Van Halen, Slash, etc. For hot guitar playing these guys are ice cubes compared to John McLaughlin of the Mahavishnu Orchestra.
Torkanowski (sp.?) out of New Orleans is VERY good too!

Jonathan Butler he is a solo artist that sangs as well as play the guitar. He has very relaxing music, kind of like straight chilling music when you're alone thinking about that special someone. Or, the kind of the music that reminds you of rain drops or thunderstorm (& u know what kind of music that is "love making" music/smile.

Do you mean 'hottest' as in the best guitar player? Or do you mean the sexiest guitar player? If you mean who is the best, my vote goes to Joe Satriani. He has TAUGHT some of the best, too.

the late chet atkins, estaban, the late andre segovia. they are classic guitarists,doing solo performances, and work with different groups. they each stand out ,on their own performances and style of playing
