day 2 1+2= 3
day 3 1+2+3= 6
day 4 1+2+3+4= 10
day 5 1+2+3+4+5= 15
day 6 1+2+3+4+5+6= 21
day 7 1+2+3+4+5+6+7= 28
day 8 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8= 36
day 9 = 45
day 10 = 55
day 11 =66
day 12 = 78
total (if you get everything everyday) 1+3+6+10+15+21+28+36+45+55+66+78= 364

Do you mean 12+11+10+9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1 which would be 78

Too many. You would have 378 gifts total since the same things are given multiple times. That is counting the partridge and the pear tree as seperate items.
