The skirt is 80% polyester, 10% wool, and 10% rayon. It has a 100% polyester lining. I'd like to machine wash it cold using the hand-wash or delicate cycle on my machine. Do you think I can get away with it?

+ it would be better to follow the instructions, but if you can't stand to hand wash and hang dry and are willing to take the chance use the permanent press cycle. Don't put anything else in and if you intend to dry it in a dryer you best stand by and check it every min. or so and as soon as it is even a little dry take it out and hang it or you will have wrinkles that never come out.
GOOD LUCK

Your best bet would be to hand wash. Just be careful. If the wool shrinks to much, the lining will billow up and be to big for the rest of the garment. I have hand washed dry clean only shirts with out mis-hap. Good Luck.

I wouldn't try it. Ramie shrinks up and the action of the washing machine - even on a gentle cycle - can be enough to do it. I'd try hand washing, gently, in cold water but if you really like the skirt, take it to the cleaners.

I have tried it before, the results are usually horrible...the fit is never the same or the lining feels or hangs wierd...I use dryel for my dry cleanables once and after the second wear, I'll use the local dry cleaner. Dryel comes with stain sheets and the scent is nice.

Not if you aren't willing to take the chance of ruining it. I've tried this several times, and sometimes the shirt turns out ok, other times it's been trashed. If you really like the shirt, take it to the dry -cleaners.

I wouldn't try it but you can get the dry cleaning kit and do it in your dryer that is much cheaper!
