A young hispanic guy tried to get on to a Naval Base by way of a bus that I had to search. He didn't have any ID, so I had to kick him off. His head was saved except for a kind of "mohawk" ponytail, and he had a tear drop tattoo on his face (under eye). It was the tattoo that freaked me out a bit. Whadduya think?

Yes he is most likely in the gang or an ex-gang member of MS-13 which is a worldwide known Hispanic/Latino gang. And they have tattoos like the one you described.

On the hand represents a murder. One per murder. On the face is in memory of a fallen family member, friend or in cases gang member. Remember many things found in gang culture has always spread outwards. The tear drop on the face has been very known to be used on non gang members and gang members alike.

The link below touches on it.

I heard a teardrop tattoo on the upper cheek represents the number of people you have killed.

the tattoo can also mean that a family member died while the person was incarcerated. In Australia, it means something entirely different..........look it up!
