Not until Bush is gone and I dred the day they gain enough power to dictate foreign policy. But some rebublicans are just as bad. I was reading what the Iraq commision wrote and was dumbfounded. If those people are or best and brightest then we in big trouble lol. Take # 19 We should stay in close contact with the government of Iraq and neighboring countries and with Iraq. Now that's just plain redudent at the least.

Only to a certain degree. Congress has the power of the purse, but the executive branch generally holds the reins of our country's foreign policy.

The Senate has to ratify treaties, but recent presidents have side-stepped that process by calling international agreements something other than "treaty" (similar to how military conflicts started by an administration aren't "wars" because only Congress can declare war.)

The most influence on foreign policy we can expect from Congress is stringent oversight & public exposure of White House bad behavior (should bad behavior occur) that forces the White House to change its actions.

The democrats are just as corrupt as the republicans...it may take them a little time to see who is the highest bidder but chances are it will be almost the same people/companies as the ones paying off the republicans! So I don't anticipate much change....

They may try a bit, but things won't change all that much. They don't have enough of a numbers advantage to do much of anything without at least some republican support.

We'll just have to wait and see but, God help us ALL when the Dems find out just what their party leaders are willing to LIE about just to get "power".
