Alright, I'm a freshman in college. I came in to college with a 6 pack weighing 145.

I was fine up to Thanksgiving when I quit working out and started drinking a lot of beer. Six pack is gone, now the only muscle I have is a beer belly.

Is it possible for me to lose this before I have to go home in a week. I really don't want my family and friends giving me a hard time since I told them all I wouldn't get the freshman 15.

Would a crash diet be a temporary solution? Or am I doomed to be poked in the belly for 4 weeks+

Start running. The best way to rip that gut is to run-a lot. Add in some weight training too. Drink a lot of water during the day (not while you're running) and cut back on sugar and carbs (and beer---I know it's a sacrifice). If you can get in 5 miles a day, you'll see an improvement in a week. However, you'll need to keep up the running while you're at home, otherwise you'll get soft again.

Wow...I pretty much think you are doomed. Crash dieting is just unhealthy. I mean if you didnt gain a ton of weight it is possible because I lost 30 lbs. in 3 weeks without crash dieting, not eating or puking. Just eat 3 healthy SMALL meals a day. NO SNACKS! and excersice as much as you can lots of crunches and situps. NO BEER! NO pop either...that has way too many calories. Just try as hard as you can and if you dont get the full results, atleast you won't be huge! Oh and run...take it from me, I am a cross country runner. I had to take 3 months off from all athletics for knee surgery and in that time I gained 56 lbs. as soon as I got the clear to start running again I lost all that weight in a month. Run 3 miles in the morning and 1 or 2 miles at night.

You may not be able to totally get rid of it in one week but you can certainly make a dent in it if you are serious and disciplined for the entire week. Why not try a juice fast for a week, drinking fresh fruit and vegetable juices daily for 7 days and lots of pure water. make sure you are also eliminating during this week. Swiss Kris is a mild herbal laxative that may help. Also exercise for 30 minutes to one hour every day. If you do this you will surely lose some of that belly and feel better in a week. Good luck!!

you could probably lose 5 lbs really fast - it's mostly water weight. Try the fat smash detox (www.fatsmashdiet.com) - go to the yahoo groups page and you can find out the foods you are supposed to eat i f you don't want to buy the book. (or 3fatchicks.com) It's basically vegetarian and low carb. You can have oatmeal and brown rice, egg whites and milk and yogurt. And all the fruit and veggies you can eat - no potato or avocado. If you do 45-60 minl. of cardio a day you will see your beely go down in a matter of days...

crash diets can be dangerous. Cut back on you intake and step up with the exercise. Good luck, but I think you will need more than a week.

what you do is go to the gym everyday until the belly is gone and workout for as long as you can and eat healthy and try giving up beer for a lil while

Losing the water weight with water pills is the only quick loss you can accomplish in one week. Good luck and don't do this long term. Your kidneys will hate you.
