Yankees have a 66% chance of making the world series with Pettitte and a 44% chance of winning. These numbers are based off that he was in new york 9 years and 6 of the year they went to the world series and 4 of those 6 years they won. Now those numbers dont mean much but it shows that Pettitte has a great influence in the lockerroom and knows how to pitch in the big games on the big stage. I was absolutely devistated when they didn't resign him and the impact on their team showed in the three years he was absent. In 2004 Red Sox would not have won. Brown wouldnt have been on the mound in game 7, most likely Pettitte would have been. He probably would have stopped the bleeding in games 4 and 5 too. I hope Clemens comes in maybe midseason like he did last year. Imagine Wang, Pettitte, Mussina, Clemens, and Johnson in the playoffs. Johnson wouldn't even have to pitch in the Division Series, thats a good things cause his numbers are hideous there.

The Yankees taking Pettite back was a GREAT move. Pettite is a great left-handed pitcher. I was sorry to see him go after all he accomplished with the Yankees a few years ago. The Yankees need to revive their pitching rotation after it failed them in the 2006 post-season. This move, along with trading Sheff for 3 young pitchers, will do just that. Pettite will help lead the Yankees to the dynasty that they once were when he used to be around. As far as Clemens goes, the Yankees should just forget about him. He's too old and washed up.
He's not worth the effort for the Yankees. I say he's done by this year.

If Clemens can bring it, that would be awesome! Clemens adds an element that the yankees need also. A fiery motivational player. Petite, barring injury, can still win about 18 games, so thats good too. Boy, I do miss the days of O'neil and tino, when the Yanks took 4 of 5 cjampionships. =)

In my opinion, there was a curse with the Yankees. It all went downhill from the year 2003. Hmm... who left in that year? I'm saying that the return of Pettite will help the Yankees possibly go to the World Series. Not just because of a curse, but because Pettite's a great pitcher and in pinstripes, he's amazing.

Neither Clemens, the king of drama in the baseball world, nor Pettitte, the most arrogant man alive, will make a difference if they join the Yankees. Both are now losers and will provide no help. Typical of the Yankees, they keep living in the past!!
Chow!!

I pray Clemens doesnt come back to the Yanks. The chances are slim too. I doubt Joe and Cashman would allow him to comeback with all the demands he is going to ask to return. He's not gonna want to travel with the team and pitch on the road which is all bull. Besides we dont desperately need him. Cashman is trying to keep the payroll down and he's gonna ask too much for half a year. He should either retire, stay in Houston or go to Boston. We got Pettite, Wang, Mussina, Johnson, Pavano?, Igawa? Yanks are gonna be fine, hopefully.

I love Pettitte and as for Clemens, I'd take any starting pitching we can take. First off money isn't a issue, second off we know both of the guys can pitch in the post season. The more the merrier.

It's cool but the Clemens thing is lame unless he plays a full season however the guy still got it! I would rather see someone from their farm system get a chance. Remember Wang? Not too shabby!

pettite is washed up. clemens will probally stay in houston and sign in june or july because they will let him do whatever he wants. like if he doesn't pitch on a road trip he stays home with his family. new york will not let that happen. thats why he wne t to houston.
