I've visited Lithuania a couple of times. Vilnius is SO clean and so pretty. I really like it there. I also really love the unofficial republic place within Vilnius with the Angel statue (forgotten what it's called). And the Frank Zappa statue. Totally random. I'm sorry though, in my experience Lithuanians are not the nicest in the region. I prefer Latvians or Poles. Lithuanians seem a little bit preoccupied with being good EU citizens and there's not a huge sense of society or goodwill towards fellow man. Sorry. It's a great place for a visit though.

I have penpals in Lithuania... so I can tell you so much. It is a warm-port meaning its trade is all year long because the water continues to stay warm all year. It gets a lot of its money from the warm port. Amber can be found at the beaches because it washes up from the waves. Its port is on the Baltic Sea. There are about 35 mil people living in Lithuania. I have a whole packet of stuff about Lithuania.... e-mail me if you want to know more.

My high school history teacher was from Lithuania--it's out along the Norway/Poland area and all the people there are of some weird Russian heritage. And they talk very fast.
