To group would be to separate due in part to some commonality,
To stereo type is to say that all people in that group acted the same way.

I believe that grouping is a way of organizing based on objective characteristics. In other words, start with an observation and make conclusions.
Stereotyping, on the other hand, presumes characteristics based on the grouping. Start with a conclusion and make observations.
Look at it another way and stereotyping is also the product of faulty logic. In other words, if you have 20 people and 2 are left handed, and those 2 happen to be redheads, then a stereotype would be "all lefties are redheads" or vice versa. Whereas a grouping would simply be "these 2 lefties are redhead, the other 18 may or may not be redheaded as well, other redheads may or may not be lefties."
And of course, stereotyping usually goes further by making assumptions based on the faulty logic. For example, next time you see a redhead, you assume the person is left-handed. Or if you see a blonde leftie, you assume the person is bleaching his hair.

Stereotyping is like saying; all blacks have guns, all Asians are good at math, all Hispanics are drug dealers. Stereotyping came from police and state police. Some of them like to think that because one person does something wrong then the whole race must be the same. Stereotyping has hurt the Indians, blacks, it has hurt every race. I went to college with a guy who said he has been stereotyped as the typical middle age white guy. He was ***. lol. Grouping people would be you saying well that man cheated me out of money, and so did that woman so you can put them in a group and you know that all of those people in that group have actually done something to you, you aren't just assuming.

Stereotyping is a negative thing that usually leads to prejudiced feelings which then leads to discrimination. Grouping is done by the social group that's in control (creating a subordinate group in the process). Grouping can be an act of discrimination caused by prejudice and stereotyping.

I think that if you stereotype people, you are suggesting that they are a certain way because they possess another certain characteristic.
Like:
Women are nurturing,
Lesbians are pushy,
Stay at home mums dress badly,
People use stereotypes to make generalisations. Such as: I would prefer a female boss because they are more understanding. That is using the stereotype 'women are nurturing' to make an assumption about how an individual might behave.

there's a set of pretend gays in my college who say they're gay (and brazenly say it truly is a call) and are discrediting the authentic gays (me!). This has made the stereotype that all gays choose it because they could be able to't get women/boys and then flaunt it round...So, human beings inquire from me why I insist on wearing my rainbow earring and wristband on a daily basis and that i tell them it truly is to exhibit gay pride that's about getting gay marriage and equivalent rights. Then I say, "note how all of those different "homosexuals" do not care a element about that."
