Dr. James Naismith was the creator of basketball. To my knowledge, he was from the United States. You may have to check if he was or not, but he definitely created the game.

The Creator of Basketball was Dr. James Naismith, and no he wasn't, he was from Ontario (B-Ball was made in Massachusetts.)
