When having "dual citizenship" (Canadian/American) and travelling to USA from Canada, I usually only have to show my Status Card-Tax Exempt Card. I have never travelled to Mexico and I have been told that I dont need a passport, is this true???

You do NOT need a US Passport to travel TO Mexico, but you will need one to return after 12/31/06. Native American, or not.

No, not true. You will need a passport, if you are going to the interior of Mexico and go by flight. Especially to return. If you are just going across the border to shop, no passport is needed right now.
It is easy to get and not expensive. Also need your birth cerificate. I have been there several times and the travel agency told me what I would need.

No, you will need a passport if you are flying. Its not Mexico that is the problem, its the United States. Everyone entering the USA after this year will need a passport.
