If he has an iPod, which most 18-yr-olds do, go for an itunes gift card. That way you can choose how much you want to spend, and everyone loves music!

I guess my first reaction is a game system, or games to with the system. Or both. I can't say I know many 18 year-old guys who don't like video games.

Get on your computer and make a forged draft card. Put it in his mailbox and have the return reciept addressed as the Department of Defense. He'll have a good laugh over it for sometime to come..haha

What are his interests? What sport is he into? There's loads of sport paraphernalia that he might appreciate, or if he's into gaming, then find out what kind of games he likes. Also music is a good one at that age, if you know his taste.....Maybe he is the outdoor type, into fishing and camping, then some new gear would be appreciated.....basically just follow his tastes and buy something to accommodate them.
