There are many gay-friendly places in all areas of the US.

West Coast: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle.
Southwest: Las Vegas, Santa Fe, San Antonio.
Upper Midwest: Chicago, Minneapolis, Madison.
Lower Midwest: St. Louis, Louisville, Columbus.
South: Miami, Atlanta, New Orleans.
Mid-Atlantic & Northeast: Washington DC, New York, and Boston.

In Canada, Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal are all known to be gay friendly as well.

There is more to a city than being gay-friendly though, such as what climate you prefer, rent/housing costs, the general cost of living, and what activities you like to do (non-gay activities that is :-).

The best place is where you can find the courage to be who you are without apologies to anyone. That can be San Francisco, or Alabama, New York or Kansas, Houston or Idaho. Its a state of mind. A place in the heart.

Yeah Canada is great, so are other places where there have been advances, but we should make every place a great place to be gay, and slowly but surely we will get there.

Yahoo just had a news article on this.

Following San Francisco on the list's top 10 were Key West, Fla.; New York City; Fire Island, which is part of Long Island in New York; Provincetown, Mass.; Los Angeles; Miami-South Beach, Fla.; Las Vegas; New Orleans, and Palm Springs-Palm Desert, Calif.

San Francisco is the BEST place on earth. Period. The weather is mild, no real hot spells or cold freezing temperatures, lots of gay culture and ethnic culture, friendly people, West Coast style and an International tourist detination. If you are looking to be in a City where you can be yourself, hold hands with your lover on the street downtown, uptown or wherever, this is the place. We were the first city in America to hold same sex weddings.

some good places everyone's mentioned: San Fran and NYC (especially Chelsea and West Village/Greenwich Village in NYC)

Atlanta has quite a large gay scene, though the city in general won't be as tolerant as San Fran or NYC

Some small towns like Asheville, North Carolina may surprise you, too.

Good luck - and I hope you'll feel free to be yourself wherever you are!

San Francisco, and California in general! But not all everyone is alike, so it depends what kind of setting you like. Not everyone likes the bustle of the city. I hear Vermont is beautiful.

Ever when you consider that i replaced into little and til immediately i have continually noted as my mum "Mummy" and my dad "Daddy". purely because they in no way replied to "mum"/"dad". and it truly is continually stuck, i assume. similar with my siblings, too. I swear each and each and every time my mom calls me at artwork, and that i answer preserving "hi, mummy", i'm getting the most strangest seems from my artwork colleagues. They continually locate that hilarious and many times take the mic. and that i visit purely see why it truly is humorous lol yet, it truly is in no way replaced, and that i doubt it truly is going to. dad and mom will continually be Mummy and Daddy. And somewhat because they received't respond to at least something else from their little ones! : )
