well....

24
8

8 goes into 24 three times.

24 divided by 8 is three.

8 divided by 8 is one.

so simplest form would be 3!

next problem.
(note. equivalent means equal to or has the same value as)

4
5

well you could do this a number of ways but we will keep it simple.
just remember what ever you do to the top you have to do to the bottom.
ready?

4 x 2 (this number was just chosen out of random any number but 1 or 0 zero will work just fine.)

4 x 2 is 8
5 x 2 is 10

one answer could be eight tenths!

or you could multiply by ten.

4 x 10 is 40
5 x 10 is 50

therefore your answer will be 40/50.

For the first one:
If it is 24 over 8, then it means to divide, so 24 divided by 8 equals 3. That is simplest form.

For the second one:
So if the fraction is 4/5 then multiply both top and bottom to make 8/10. 8/10 is equivalent to 4/5, because it can be reduced to it.

Reduce the fraction 24/8.
24/8 = 3/1 = 3

Find a fraction equivalent to 4/5. There are an infinite number of possible answers.

4/5 = 8/10 = 40/50 = 44/55 etc.
Just multiply the numerator and denominator by the same thing.
