Here goes. My baby girl is 3 months old. She was very colic at the beginning, but is doing much better except when 6:00 hits. Here is her routine : 8:00-8:30pm : bedtime ; 8:00am : wakes up, eats ; 10:00 to 12:00 : sleeps ; 12:00 : eats ; sleeps about 1-2 hours in the afternoon ; 4:00 : eats. After that, anything goes but when 6:00 comes by, she cries, cries and cries. I know she's not hungry, she ate at 4:00-4:30. I know she's tired, but I can't put her to bed at 6:00, that's too early. Right now it's 6:40 and she's sleeping on my husband's shoulder. I like to giver her her bath around 7:00, then she eats and then she goes to bed (that's a whole other story because she cries when I put her in her crib). What can I do between 6:00 and 7:00? What can I do differently? Please help.

OK this is going to sound crazy but she might be teething. My daughter is 3 1/2 months old and if you take a look at some of my old questions I was having a similar problem...then boom she cut her two bottom teeth and it's completely resolved now. Best of luck to you and your sweet girl...hope everything works itself out.

Our daughter was the same way. She was never colic, but she just would not settle down in the evening. She was so upset and woudn't stop crying. The doctor said that there is a lot of commotion at that time. My husband got home, I was trying to get dinner made, we were eating dinner, talking about our day, etc. This was a major change in the day for our daughter since after daddy went to work, it was just her and I and we did our own thing all day. So it just made sense that after my husband got home from work, that all the change upset her.
Don't worry, for our daughter, it only lasted about a month and then she got used to everything. Maybe 2 months, but I barely even remember what it was like.
Good luck!

Ok...all children have a fussy time...the evenings might be hers. And she could be hungry at 6...it's been 2 hours. What time does she go down in the afternoon? Maybe you should push that nap back a little and feed her before she goes down, then when she gets up in the afternoon, play for a bit, feed her dinner, bathe her and put her to bed. She might need to go to bed earlier. But remember, she's going to have a fussy time and weather it's just a fuss or full on crying, she's gonna have it!! Good luck!!

read what the other mothers here have written its all good .
in addition to that you need to sit next to your husband hold the baby with the child's face toward you think of everyone of your concerns with the child and as you do say this . " THIS TOO SHALL SURELY PASS" the Lord will not give me my child nor my husband more then anyone of us can bear . together with love faith and God we will continue on the walk together knowing that at times we will laugh cry smile weep sleep yes sleep eat and love.
all of this is because the Lord has given you each all that you need for this day. you need no more then that any day.

this is a hard one for me but for tht nite i would just let her sleep. but otherwise think of a new scheduale. my nephew turned 6 months old today so i usually let him sleep when he goes to sleep. but also talk to your husbend about it.

try spreading out her naps a bit. she's tired and probably over stimulated. so she may need a later nap to help compensate.
