My work xmas night out is on Sat and I want an outfit that I can wear to that and out over the festive season!!!

I'm a size 14, and I'm quite self-concious of the way I look. Can any1 suggest an outfit that flatters the fuller figure/pear shaped?

I don't want to look tacky so only classy outfits please!

I managed to get a really nice skirt, top and jacket out of M&co having trailed all the shops on the usual hit list.....
However one of the girls went to River Island and bought an absolutely gorgeous black dress just past knee length and seqiouned on top. She is a 16 and looked fab in it. A real head turner

Good hunting.....

A wrap around dress always flatters a bigger figure. Wear a black one, black really flatters or a red one to really stand out and it's christmassy. If you have bigger boobs wear something with a v neck. Covering them up will make them look even bigger. Wear those control pants under the dress, they really do wonders.

Oh and I found some nice wrap dresses from next.com on the second link. Next always has classy dresses.

Wear some heels too! I was told that wearing heals makes you look like you've lost half a stone! Oh I'm getting going on this subject now! lol

Well i`m also a size 14 and i`d either wear black dressy trousers with a sparkly top or a nice black dress,do wear heels though,i`d take a look in river island as they`ve got really lovely tops and shoes in just now and their reasonably priced, newlook also have a nice pair of shoes i saw in a magazine, they are sparkly peeptoes with a bow on front and they`re only about £20,have a great night and i`m sure you`ll look fab whatever you wear and remember if you feel confident you`ll come across as confident to others,xx

I just wanted to point out that size 14 in England is actually only an 8 in America........ So she is kinda skinny.
Hope you have sorted an outfit. Im liking the smock dress with leggings and heels. If you buy a fairly plain outfit that can be reused and isn't too 'now' then jazz it up with jewelry and a clutch bag.

Try some good quality gaucho style black or chocolate brown pants..or even a long skirt..try a straighter cut..more slimming and then find a really special silk or satin wrap style blouse(the belted ones especially) and put your hair up and wear earrings with a little dangle..very classy and dressy and special at the same time! a great color combo would be the chocolate brown pant and a deep red top..different but really beautiful on most everyone!!(don't forget a strappy or pointy toe shoe!!)

I don't know what your personal style is, but, as a fellow size 14, I think you can never go wrong with nice fitting black pants and a top with a little sparkle. Lane Bryant has some really gorgeous stuff out right now, and it's pretty budget friendly.

Try a nice empire waist dress, those are usually slimming for curvier tummies. Black is a slimming color as well. You could wear a nice medium-long skirt with some thick colored stockings in holiday colors...but that might be tacky. So, i think you could wear those fancy work pants with pinstripes, you can find them everywhere, and a thick belt height-wise thats a bright bold red color at your waist. THen pair it with a flowy empire top shirt, wear some holiday jewelry and your set

I thik a nice shirt with an empire waist! it would flatter upper body, along with some simple black pants, as for being self-concious, i would try not to be, because when you realize you are beautiful, when you feel beautiful people can tell and they can feel the confidence as you pass and they want to approch you!

heres a great picture of empire waist short, good luck!http://www.couturecandy.com/store/assets/12thstreet/longimages/12th-empire-spruce-frnt-long.jpg

im thinking a nice skirt that goes to just below your knees, maybe black. A nice bright coloured top, not to bright, and something with 3/4 sleeves. Also be confident nothing compliments and outfit better then a hot gal with a hot outfit on.
