I know this movie is old but I saw a commerical for the 5 disc collectors edition and it made me think about it. I thought it was ok, just knowing that disney made the movie made the film less appealing. I was hoping that someone like Peter Jackson would come along and make it something like Lord of the Rings. What do you think?

i'm referring to the disney movie (i consider 6 months an old movie) which i thought was to 'childish' portrayed and didnt convey the seriousness of the story.

i thought it was intresting ...one of the most intense fighting scene and well no blood was shed..... like through out the whole movie... i mean there was like dryed blood on edwins face and such but ...you never saw blood.....

Peter Jackson would have been a pretty good choice for the movie. Having Peter Jackson direct The Chronicles of Narnia movies would some people think it's just a spin-off sort of movie from Lord of the Rings. An interesting fact is the Tolkien (Lord of the Rings) and Lewis (Narnia) were friends in college and took the same classes before they started writing their books. That's why the movie's had sort of the same epic feel.

I really liked the movie and think it is a step up from the BBC version. This was one my fav. books as a child and I was disappointed when I saw it in the theater. I thought they did a really good job on the graphics and special effects. Especially, on the animals. Costumes and set was also well thought out. Acting was actually better than I expected. Overall I think Disney has come a long way in movie production.

The new one is very good, I didn't know there was an old one. I'm almost glad Peter Jackson didn't do it because he screwed up some of my favorite parts of the Lord of the Rings books.

The old movie is pretty dull. I saw it once and it was so bad I forgot all about it. The new movie by Disney is actually pretty good.

The new movie is a lot better than the old movie.
It looks like LOTR because the same people did the CG

i really liked it. I thought it was very true to the stories i read when i was a kid. Even down to the books in that goat guys shelf. Very good movie

it is somewhat like LOTR
if u want it, i do not recomment the 5 disc edition, just get the regular single disc.

the movie was awesome. i loved it. i'm also a fan of the books though. also there wasn't any bloodshed b/c it was considered a kids movie.
