My family enjoys filling each other's Stockings -- playing Santa. We also sometimes make ornaments for the tree from kits. We play Monopoly, or Scrabble, or other games. Go play in the snow. Go to a carol sing, or maybe a "Messiah" sing along.

Other things that are fun are to do things for others. Adopt a family from your local Salvation Army or other organization. Some cities have "wish trees" where you take a name and wish off a Christmas tree and then go fulfill the wish. One year we bought a set of bicycles for a charity and had a great afternoon putting them together and decorating them.

Fun things at Christmas have always seemed to me to be things that the family does together, either for ourselves or others.

If you're alone this holiday season, gather up all the other "orflings" you know and make a family to have a holiday with. It will give all of you something good to do and to remember.

Make cinnamon applesauce ornaments: Drain a 1 pound jar of applesauce overnight (you'll lose a lot of liquid!). Add 8 ounces of cinnamon (large jars available at Wal-Mart) and mix together well. Then pat into a ball, press hard to solidify and mix. Pat out in 1-cup units onto wax paper, push to 1/4" thickness and cut with cookie cutters. Punch a hole large enough to put a ribbon through. Dry for several days, turning once or twice a day. Hang on tree and enjoy the smell!

Go visiting! Make Christmas cookies from your favorite easy recipes. Package them in clear or white bags, tie snips of evergreen with red ribbons around the tops, and deliver then to elderly or ill neighbors. Practice a little singing so you can go caroling as you deliver them.

Become thespians! Make up a simple Christmas or Hanukkah story and let the children act it out. Use old clothes or scrap material to make costumes.

have fun!!!!!!!!!

I kidnap my b/f and take him down our Christmas Tree Lane and Hungtington Boulevard, both of which are lit up. Then we go grab some cheapy dinner and some hot chocolate. It's just our little tradition.

Remember that it is better to give than to receive. If you go out give to people who need it. Not only will it make them happy it will make you even happier than they are. To know that you really make a difference is there any better feeling? Okay one but besides that nothing feels better than this. Take care ...........TTFN ......Peace out and God Bless all this Christmas season.
