Do American People like Italian people? What do you like or dislike about them? Tell me tell me!

I'm American and I live in Italy. My husband is in the Military, and we got stationed here two years ago. And yes, I personally adore the Italians and their culture! They are such laid back, warm, inviting and loving people. I have never seen a more family oriented culture either. And their love and respect for children is something they could teach the rest of the world. I can't walk down the street or go into a restaurant here without an Italian kissing or picking up one of my children. Something that would probably freak me out if a stranger back home in the States did, but these people are just crazy about kids and show them a lot of respect.
We'll be here for another few years, and we'll miss it terribly when we come home. We moved off base so we could be around the Italian culture more, and the Italians we rent our house from have treated us like family. They go way above and beyond the call of duty as far as landlords are concerned! They had us over last Christmas Eve for dinner, and they invited us this year as well. They worry that we're so far from home and not near our own families, so they really watch over us. These are people that have become lifelong friends to us.

Hmmm....What reason would Americans honestly have to dislike Italians? I am an Italian American and am one of the most non-prejudice people I know! People are people-period. Regardless of race, creed, nationality, gender, etc...they need to be looked at and thought of as nothing less than a human being. Sure there may be some Italians that aren't "contributing members of society", etc...But that is the case when any race is involved!

About the same as I dislike in anyone else. Except in this case it's in Italian. Hope this helps.

Same amount as anyone else.. There are obnoxious Italian people and awesome ones, can't really decide something specific based solely upon race..

Italians rock. All of my friends are Italian, which is odd, because I'm not, and almost no one (except my friends) is Italian where I live.
