no i think italy doesn't deserve to be the world champions. they play unattractive football in my opinion and defended all the way. and one more thing, i really can't stand fabio cannavaro, he doesn't deserve to be the european player of the year seriously. yes he lead italy to the world cup, but that is at the expense of playing unattractive football. they could be well knocked out by the aussies this year if not for a controversial penalty. no offence to italians or italy supporters though, i too like some of the italian players. buffon is my favourite italian player =)

Although I have happier memories of the 1982 win since they were 25-1 odds to win that year. The 2006 squad was clearly the best team in the World Cup. They only gave up 2 goals, 1 was an own goal. Which technically means they only gave up a very ?able penalty against France who were certainly worthy opponents. But, the fact remains that without Zidane France would not have qualified for the cup. Raymond Domenech-the french coach said that plenty of times. They relied far to heavily on him & Henri. The Italians had 10 players who scored for them, A TEAM EFFORT! France's last 2 goals were penalties. What does that tell fans about France's inability to finish? Both teams deserved to be in the Final, lets leave it at that.

no they didn't because Germany deserved it only the two last goals on Jens Lehmann lost them the World Cup title which made me pissed because i am german

Italy deserved nothing. Nothing whatsoever. They dived and cheated vs Australia and they knew Zidane was a human unlike they were so they provoked him. well its over. Italy undeservedly won the Cup. Forza my foot

i have to agree with the guy above me italy has no offense their defense saved their as***. i think penalties are a very dumb way to end a game especially when one team like france deserves it way more. O yeah and one more thing: F*** Marco Materazzi he can go suck a huge d***.
