cover it up well when not in use

it will suck moisture out of the air like a sponge

I would suggest a heating system in the garage too...make it nice to play in there and keep everything dry

they have these nice electric units that i use in the shop in winter...great units

smaller unit

larger unit that i use

i dont suggest any of those propane units that are refered to as forced air...they are dangerous and just noisy anyways, electric ones will work just fine if you dont leave them on all night

i suggest the bigger unit ...

i think you would be just fine if the garage is dry now. The problem with adding a dehumidifier in a garage is that garages aren't sealed tight. So you'd be trying to dehumidify all the air that flows in around the garage door.

Mould likes damp unventilated areas that don't dry out. Keep that in mind if you decide to put a tarp over it. Meaning to say, the tarp should be fabric, and not a plastic sheet that traps in moisture. A good canvas drop sheet from a paint store would be an ideal cover.

if you are putting in a real expensive table I would recommend having the garage climate control but if it is just a second hand table do as much as possible to keep out moisture and would consider having a fan and or a heater to circulate the air do not cover the table with plastic when not in use use a sheet so the air can breathe around the table not trapping it

if the garage is dry, I don't see how it would mold. Do you have other things in the garage that are molded? One suggestion would be to put a dehumidifier in. Not sure you would want to go to the added expense, but it would keep everything dry.

AS long as there is no humidity in the garage and no leakage
the pool table will be fine

Get a humidity reader, they cost like three quid from most garden centers. It will tell you if its really dry.

Cover it over in airtight polythene sheets, or a sheet.
