Let's say it for a recruiting agency and they want someone "pretty" for their customer who's an accountant. and the word "pretty" was used. Doesn't that make (don't laugh :D) make the recruiting agency "pimps" or something. It's a staffing agency.not a Modeling agency.

Unless it's a protected class, it isn't illegal to hire based on physical features.

Remember, it's only illegal to discriminate against someone for:
Race, Religion, Color, National Origin, Age, Gender, Physical Disability, Veteran's status

Image is part of many jobs, I don't think there is anything wrong with it if it really is relevant. For instance you would not be happy if you walked into a dentist office and his secretary had black teeth. Sometimes looks do matter, especially when you are talking about optional (hygiene) ones.

It is difficult to prove that you are a victim of "ugly" discrimination. But if the looks part is based on race or ethnic status maybe you have a case.

Sure.... modeling agencies do it all the time.

Banks prob. less so... but PROVING it is something else.

I doubt that you can prove it. Plus how much time and money can you afford to spend in court?
