First, let me address the guys. Would you be more flattered if a gay guy told you that you were handsome or if a straight guy told you that you were handsome? Why? Why not?

The same question applies to the ladies. Would you be more flattered if a lesbian told you that you were beautiful or if a straight woman told you that you were beautiful? Why? Why not?

Note: the above questions assume that you are straight, so if you are a homosexual or a lesbian, please state it somewhere in your answer (optional). Also, the point is not to offend anyone with these questions. They are serious questions, so don't just reply saying that you'd punch a gay guy out if he complimented you.

I would be more flattered if a straight woman told me I was beautiful because I think it would be more honest. She would not be trying to pick me up.

Honestly, it would depend on what I thought of that person's taste! There are few things that can cause you to step back and go "huh?" than meeting/seeing the ex-whatevers of your current lover and finding them unattractive. If you have any self confidence issues at all, it's easy to start to question your own appeal if (in your opinion) every other person your lover has found attractive is, well, not!

Come to think of it, I wonder whether my reaction would also depend on how attractive I thought the person giving me the compliment was? Seriously...I wonder if that would make a difference. I think it might, rightly or wrongly.

But in a vacuum, I don't know that I'd prefer one over the other. Hmm...maybe if the lesbian gave me the compliment I would be more flattered, although I'm not sure why.

I would be complimented if either woman told me I was beautiful. I think I would be more flattered if a straight woman told me because it isn't very often that happens.

I think it'd be more flattering if a straight person said it, because even though they're not into the same sex, they can still admit that I'm attractive (which I'm not so I doubt this would affect me in the future lol) enough to be noticed, but not being liked. If that made sense.

I'd be more flattered if a straight woman told me I was beautiful because she probably means it more if she says it.

I had a beautiful straight woman tell me I was 'Classy'. I was so flattered because it was not some generic praise heard everyday, and because she herself was one I considered 'Classy'.

anyone at all telling me im pretty is a complement. If a lesbian told me then i would feel creeped but flattered.Cuz lesbians are masculent, so guys probably feel that way too. If a strait girl told me then i would feel pretty.Usually pretty girls tell me im pretty.

i might incredibly opt for to be spoke of as handsome, seeing as i myself do look tremendously good, yet I purely get one compliment, for the main section, and that's being spoke of as a "genius" or "clever," that's beneficial, yet something i'm very used to.
