Do you understand that the incidence of secondary surgery for breast enlargement is 100% ? Sooner or later you WILL have to have the implants changed / removed / in some way 'dealt with'. Think about it. Having it done is NOT the end...it is just the beginning!

There is always a risk with anaesthetic.
Smoking never helps with these kind of things.
Forget about the breast enlargements, you must have seen some of the Tv program's where things have gone badly wrong.
Stay as you are.
Small is just as beautiful as large.
Bye.

Well, as no one else has actually answered your question... *rolls eyes*

I haven't heard of anything going horribly wrong as a direct result of smoking, but as with any surgical procedure there are risks (which I'm sure you already know about so I'm not going to patronise you).

I will say though, that again, as with any other surgical procedure, smokers tend to be at slightly more at risk of blood clots forming. This can happen to anyone who is immobile for any length of time, but the risk is known to be higher in smokers.

I wouldn't necessarily say don't do it, if this is something you've got your heart set on, but I would definitely recommend that you tell your doctors that you are still smoking so that they can keep an eye on you to make sure you don't get blood clots/DVT. As you probably know, these can easily be fatal if they're not caught in time, but if your doctors know they may be able to give you something to reduce the risks.

Good luck, and I hope you get the result you want.

Wooo Hoo lucky you, go for it girl!!! As far as i know it reduces the healing time and you could be more prone to infection.. i didnt think that they would do the op if you smoked!!! If you were told that you had to stop smoking, would you give up then???? its not hard to quit if quitting is what you really want to do, i gave up smoking over a year ago now and would never smoke again, i did that coz it was what i really wanted!!!

Oh man you NEED to STOP SMOKING.

You also need to inform your doctor NOW that you smoke.

You could have HORRIBLE issues with smoking, it affects your healing!

Please check out the site below and talk to people on the augmentation board. do a search for "smoking and healing" and read all the horror stories. You won't have access to pictures but the ones I've seen with smoking and healing will scare you out of smoking.

Well if it does, you've no one else but yourself to blame. You don't need a breast enlargement, you need some self confidence. That costs nothing. I do hope you're paying privately for this, and are not going through the national health!

Well who ever is doing it for you wouldn't inspire confidence. If you don't have the answers to these questions by now then I would ask the doc before I would go any further. Oh and by the way don't forget to ask about the incidence of necrotic nipples post surgery. Good luck.
