No there will not be a World Cup in 2008. But there will be the European Cup that year (commonly knowned as Euro) It will be held in Austria/Switzerland. Both countries are hosting it.
The next World Cup will be held in South Africa in the year 2010, the first time the World Cup will be held in the African Continent
I'm excited as you are in these competition. But the gap between years of the competition makes you want to enjoy it like if it was your first, or last or only time watching it.

there's no FIFA World Cup in 2008 but instead it will be the UEFA European Championship finals in AUSTRIA & SWITZERLAND. the next FIFA World Cup will takes place in the summer of 2010. meanwhile, the FIFA Women's World Cup will be held from 10 September 2007 to 30 September 2007 in CHINA PR.
