I keep getting port scanned from this IP on sygate firewall, it logs it etc,..... on a UDP port ( what is this)....Anyone know what steps to take on sygate to stop it.... I backtraced it to somewhere in Alaska i believe....it makes 18 hops and returns a whois if sandy2.thehideout.com. Does anyone know about this? The fix or ???

Phy...thank you I have all those....mind Dr. I have that info too...it's just annoying and with my cable modem turned off.....OFF...i am still getting traffic...I am just wondering why this happens is all....and yes I have sygate - pre Norton days

If you are disconnected from the Internet and are still recieving pop-ups, you are infested with a worm. Get a cleaner that is specifically for worms.

Wha tis the big deal anyway. You have Sygate Firewall, an if you are scanned by this IP, I assume the firewall is blocking the IP from sending you any packet data. If your firewall ask you to allow or deny, just deny as you don't know this IP.

i'm with BT also, unload Norton that is only too source hungry, i exploit ZoneAlarm professional, ok i comprehend its £25 a 365 days for 3 pc`s, although that is a techniques more advantageous suited. Failing that ZoneAlarm loose, pluse, Spybot, undercover agent ware Blaster and AVG will do the trick.
