Gaining a lbs a week in your 3rd is normal. Gaining 45 in the first two is not. That doens't mean that it is a bad thing. Talk ot your doctor and see what they think.

Just because you gained 45 lbs. in your first 2 trimesters doesn't mean you did the "wrong" thing. Alot of people gain that much weight with no problem. Just because you didn't gain the "normal" 15-25 pounds doesn't mean you did ANYTHING wrong.
Gaining just the one pound a week is just fine now. I wouldn't worry about it.
I gained anywhere from 15-60 lbs per pregnancy. And it took the same amount of time for the 15lbs.come off as the 60lbs.You could have alot of water weight.
So, don't listen to people tell you that you gained WAY to much weight. It sound fine to me. If your overly concerned about the 1 lb then ask the doctor but that is the recommended amount to gain from now till you give birth. I even lost a bit of weight in my last trimester because eating was just too uncomfortable to do. And with the heartburn the last thing I wanted was food!! Good Luck, and dont worry!

I can tell you right now, 45 pounds is too much weight to gain in a pregnancy...total, unless your carying multiples. You should gain maybe 4-6 lbs, total in your first trimester. and after 16-20 weeks it's about a pound per week. If you even average that it's maybe 30-35 pounds. Your doctor should've put you on a modified diet. That's a lot of weight and your in your 3rd trimester and not even finished. I'm 26 weeks pregnant and total gained 13 pounds.

I wouldn't say so, because if your doctor was concerned he would have let you know right away. At least your still gaining which is important. The litature I have says that in the last trimester you should gain at least one pound a week. It states that its important to notice a drastic weight gain from edema because that could be signs of Preeclempsia. So don't stress, maybe you noticed the weight and starting to eat healthier.

You are only supposed to gain a lbs a week the last 6 weeks of pregnancy, before that you are supposed to gain less than 4 lbs the first trimester and 6 lbs the second.

What are you trying to set a record for most weight gain during pregnancy?

woooooooooooooow. put down the cookies!

just teasing. its pretty typical, and healthy for most women to only gain 25 lbs through the ENTIRE pregnancy. though i dont particularly agree with it. i gained 48 lbs at a very steady rate. as long as all your tests are coming back well i wouldnt be worried,

Hi i would ask your doc. I know gaining a lot of weight like that can cause gestational diabetes. Just make sure you get tested for that and make sure you are eating healthy!! Eat lots of fruits and veggies! Go for a walk each night or if you dont like being out in the cold or arent in a safe neighberhood do lunges down the hall instead of walking...kinda fun and keeps your legs in great shape!
