Why do people think they can just walk into a place of business and think that everyone is going to drop what they are doing and kiss their feet?! I try very hard to treat our customers with the utmost respect, but shouldn't they do the same?!
There must be a secret club of them because my ex thinks the world revolves around him too.

Honey, I don't let them bother me and neither should you. People like that are out of synch with reality. It's almost as if their little power trip is a front for something else...which is more than likely having no power or control anywhere else in their lives. Don't be the one to be intimided or irritated with people like that. Instead, make them aware and extremely uncomfortable in the way they treat people by watching them. Yes, in a childish way, almost like a staring contest. When you see them being mean to someone, make sure you make eye contact with them to ensure they are aware you are on to their game. Believe it or not, if you do it enough times, it actually makes them uncomfortable enough to stop being mean to everyone else. It's like a bully syndrome. If you don't give the bully a chance to be mean, the bully can actually be a very nice person. (doubt this one is, but ya never know)

Wish ya luck

Yes, and it drives me nuts.

I go to school near a big university and you'd think those people would be smart enough to know how to cross the street in traffic. However, apparently they think they are so special because they will walk right out in front of your car like they expect you to just freeze time and stop! They ALL do it!

Some girl walked out right in front of me today with a cell phone to her ear, and a fancy expensive coffee in the other hand... wearing those carbon copy eskimo boots, leggings, and skirt... she just took her sweet little time, gabbing away on her all-important phone... I cannot stand people who don't think about anyone but themselves. Learn how to read traffic signals!!!!! /rolleyes

"Customers" are the worst, too. They think the person at the "front desk" is the one in charge of the whole company and can do anything for them... yeah right, learn a little bit and then come back! Cashiers, phone operators, lowly employees... they have NOTHING to do with how a company works, so why do they always get the brunt of the complaints??? I feel your pain.

People believe in the worlds trinity me, myself and I. I have been in the same line of business for over 12 years in insurance and we had one heck of an account everytime they called I had to page the people working on this account, they acted like they were God incarnate, I was happy and relieved when we lost that account because they were overly pushy and demanding, I was never allowed to act like that growing up. Costumers dont feel like they should have to treat people with respect because they are the ones being served and it is not right and it is not fair and this is the way it is. These people that are overly deamnding need to realize they are not the center of the universe, people who dont care for others are very shallow and unhappy.

Self centered people do irritate me more than other people. Because they tend to be more demanding - it is hard to ignore them and carry on your business with the normal set of priorities.

I do try to deal with these self centered types by working as quickly as I can to get them finished and out - so I can give extra care and attention to the really nice people I work with everyday.

There is nothing wrong with people thinking anything they want. You have the ability to shut them out of your reality.

Yes people like that do irritate me. If you give respect to them, they in turn should give you respect.
