There are no good reasons to change the drinking age to 18.

Certain exceptions should be made, ie: If your old enough to fight and die for your country, you should be able to go out and have a beer.

The overall problem is not the Drinking, its the Driving after or while drinking. The Laws that were created were to prevent unskilled / newer drivers, which have by statistical record have a higher % of fatality rate because of a drunk driver.

It's just fact that younger drivers are not responsible enough. Again, it's not everyone but when you look at the overall statistics, it goes against younger drivers. Even after the age limitations for drinking, Young drivers still have a high rate of fatality because of the use of Cel phones and having a bunch of friends in a car. They just don't pay attention.

Granted, anyone who drinks shouldnt drive but if Alcohol is going to be legal, you have to make the limits somewhere and 21 seems to be a pretty good place to start.

Laws are now being inacted for elderly drivers, saying they cannot drive for many of the same reasons... they cant concentrate and have limited control.

Driving is a privilege not a right.

Or if u are old enough to fight for this country u should be able to have a drink, especially in this freak in war.. BUT.. on the other hand I only think if you are in the service that you should be allowed to, it used to be that way when I was a kid and my husband was in the marines .. so I would not want my child or any other child drinking unless that was the case. Too irresponsible, and man I really wouldn't want u to drink and drive sorry!

Well, as you mentioned in your other question you are only 11 years old and pregnant by either your dad or ex boyfriend so you have a few years to go. Since you have such a great imagination writing a paragraph about reasons to vote should be CHILDS PLAY.

I'd argue that people are still very religious... just "religion" has somewhat shifted its focus. People back then may have been very religious about going to church, saying prayers etc. but it doesn't mean they were Christian/Muslim/(insert faith here) or really believed in a God. Nowadays people are religious about fashion, careers, hobbies, you name it. So I'd be inclined to say that the amount of people who actually believed in and followed a religion for spiritual reasons rather than just to get a sense of "belonging" and keep within their culture, has probably remained relatively constant from back then to this day, in proportion with the world's population. In other words, religion does not equal faith/belief.

sorry ,but drinking age should stay at 21

just because you're 18, you're still a teenager, and still prone to stupid mistakes. drinking a driving for 18 year olds its one aspect of why it should never go down.

The only thing I can think of is, if you can smoke cigarettes and vote, you should be able to drink.

(I don't agree, but I assume this paragraph is for school, so good luck coming up with reasons.)

if you can own a home, go to war, get married, considered an adult(be held liable for your actions), drive a car,... how can they say your too irresponsible to drink alcohol?

My father grew up in Germany where he could walk home from school and do his homework at the bar drinking a beer at 13... they don't have nearly the problem our children have with drinking bc its not 'cool' bc your not breaking the law. its kind of how you like to drink, but when you turn 21 its no fun bc people don't care if you drink.

I think it should be pushed up to 25ish. At 18 most are too irrisponsible and dangerous to be drinking. Now everyone 24 and under give me a hands down. Thank you

No way!!! 18 is way too young and immature to be drinking....so is 21 for that matter.

lon m^ - I'm 24 and I actually agree with you.
