I cheated on a gf once, and told her.

I remember my dad, afterwards, (and as far as I know he has _never, ever_ cheated or condoned it) asking me if I told her so she'd feel better, or so I would.

If there's a chance of him finding out, you should tell him. If you'd ever do it again, you should break up. And if it was a horrible mistake you'll never repeat, then maybe the best thing you can do to make ammends is to NOT tell them. _You_ will feel better telling them, because YOU feel guilty. But it will make them miserable. You screwed up, why should you get to unload your guilt? Suck it up, and never do it again.

to tell you the truth, if you want to ruin someone emotionally then go ahead and keep a secret like that from them, I cant stand a liar and I'm sure he feels the same way, not only will he hate you when he finds out but your opportunity to become friends if you had just told the truth will be gone. Think, Would i like it if he cheated on me and i found out via the gossip line? :-) Be considerate don't be like my ex wife always thinking about yourself.

Well, that depends. Do you want him in you life? Then no, don't say anything. If you want to tell him so that his anger and jealousy can feed your ego then go ahead. Just be prepared to have trust issues with him and don't be surprised if in the future he cheats on you.

Only you know how he will react. In most cases coming clean only benefits the cheater. It just causes more pain to the other party. If the affair is over and you truly won't do it again, then keep your mouth shut and pour all of your energy into making amends even if he doesn't know what for.

If you just kissed someone on a bad night and you feel really bad then you might not want to tell him, it will only cause problems. If you have feelings for someone or did more than just a kiss then you need to tell him.

Yeah...go ahead. I'm sure he'd like to know before he engages in any close physical contact with someone who has the same morals as a common streetwalker.

Wouldn't you want to be accorded the same courtesy?
