Give yourself plenty of time.
It takes as long as it takes. Could be from two to three hours.
However, Quality is better than quantity, so if it takes ten hours, and the quality is great, you are onto a winner.
Don't forget to check spelling and grammar when you have finished, this can take 30 minutes.
Good luck.

I would give yourself several chunks of time, in order to write a really good essay. First, you need to plan out what you're going to say. Writing an outline can save you a ton of time in the long run, though it's not strictly necessary with a shorter piece like this. Write a first draft, this should take about an hour. Write long, if you have to - in other words, don't stop yourself at 1000. Make sure you go past 1000, and continue until you've got all your ideas down. Then put the paper down overnight. Come back to it with fresh eyes, and edit it, making sure that you've reviewed the teacher's assignment first so it's fresh in your head. Now you can cut back to 1000 words. Editing time depends a great deal on how good the first draft is. You may simply be able to trim things back and replace a few words here and there for greater clarity (about 1/2 an hour's work), or you may find you're unhappy with a section, or the whole thing, and want to start over, in which case, lather, rinse, repeat. Don't forget that all the effort you make to write accumulates. So don't think of things that you throw away as "wasted." No writing effort is wasted - it's all a learning process. Good luck!

You could write about your short and long-term goals as far as your: -educational goals -career goals -personal goals That gives you six subjects. You could add what steps you are planning to take to reach those goals, and also add what your thoughts are on keeping motivated in reaching those goals. I don't think it is absolutely necessary to have all your goals pertain to the job you are applying for. I believe with an essay that long they are looking for something more than the ability to work around the community. It seems like they want insight into the type of person you are. You could even mention in the essay about previous goals that you had set for yourself and achieved already. 1000 words will probably be less than two pages (single spaced) long. good luck

Presuming that you have a topic and the background notes, it takes as long as necessary. The better your typing the faster it goes. figure no less then 30 minutes... no more then 2 hours if you stick to it.
The above paragraph was about 40 words.. took about 15 seconds with a few ponderings along the way. That works out at about 60 to 70 minutes at that pace. But then again I sorta maybe knew what I was typing about
Good luck

About 2 hours.
You'll fit about 200 words on an A4 side of paper, and that should take about 25 minutes to write.
Unless you write really slow.
You could use your computer if your typing is faster than your writing.

+ If you already know the topic you could do it in 10 min. If you don't know what you are going to say it could take a long time. maybe an hour. If you have to research it longer.
If you can say out load what you want then copy what you said it goes faster.

If you have no distractions it should take you 1-2 hours depending on your ability to write. 1000 words isn't too bad. :)

depends how good a mark you want. I find these hard to write because of how little wordage you have and these days with the internet how much research you can find it hard to decide what to put in and what to leave out! I take several days to plan and write it, then leave it for 3 days before i go back and re-evaluate it with a fresh outlook.

If you would have started instead of waiting for answers you would be done a lot sooner.
1000 words is not much, should be pretty quick
