I had an ultrasound scanning 5 days ago, and I was 8 weeks into pregnancy by then. I saw my baby was so tiny, but did have heartbeat. The heartbeat was measure 90 bt/min. Doctor's diagnosis said that everything looks fine and normal.
I went for another scanning today, no heartbeat was detected. Is it possible that sonographer missed the heartbeat because of some other reason?

I had the same thing happen to me in April 05. I went in for my 6 week sono and there was a heartbeat. I am not sure what the bpm were, but it was there. I had another on at 9 weeks and there was no heartbeat. I went back to the doctor and wanted another sono with a different person. I went to the hospital and had my 2nd one and again there was no heartbeat. I was very upset I had a D&C that night. PLEASE GET A 2nd OPINON. Also my friend had a sono at 6 weeks and saw the heartbeat. Her pressure was up so they did another sono about 2 weeks later and there was no heartbeat. Her doctor made her come back 4 days later and have another sono and there was a hearbeat. So that tells you that you really need to get a 2nd opinon. I am now 37 weeks prego and going strong. Good Luck!!!!

Hmmm....sounds like there might be some missing info in there somewhere. A baby's heartbeat at 8 weeks should be somewhere in the 170-190 bpm range, which is twice what you are suggesting. I could be that you just misheard what was said, and they actually did say 190. However, you might have to base your decision on the interpretation by what the tech said during the US. If they told you everything was fine, then there is nothing to worry about. Another thing to consider is, was the baby moving? Sometimes it is easy to worry about the heartbeat so intensely, that you forget to watch the baby. If it was moving, definitely a heartbeat and nothing to worry about.

normal heart rate at that time of pregnancy is 120-180. Maybe they missed it. I hope everything turns out for you. Have you been spotting or bleeding?
