Like that he told you not to work, not to go out of the house, thought that he has the right to tell you all this. Did that guy changed, or it ended up by breaking up?

Men like that never change. But you already knew that, didn't you? Break things off with him, before you waste more of your life being unhappy.

I was with a man like this for about 5 months, as you probably would understand this is a long time to be with someone like this. We have known each other about 2 years now. Also it was semi long distance. He would check my phone, ask me constantly were i was and we were always fighting about it. We would have hours of conversations on the phone trying to work through it. He tried to change as i explained that thats not how healthy relationships work, he would try and be 'good' for awhile but it just didnt feel right to him, so we broke up for good. Men like this have serious, serious emotional problems. The only way i think they can change is when they meet a woman they really love and they wont put up with it and leave. I often speak with this man, a relationship like this is highly emotional and passionate so we have a very strong bond, i hope in the future he will see that what we had was very special and he destroyed it. I dont get my hopes up though.

Never had a man that was extremely controlling, but you have to live your life. Most men will not change, so I hope you are finding your way out of this relationship. Does not sound healthy or loving at all.

That was my first husband. I could not work, when I threw a fit and said I've been working since I was 14 he then backed off and said only in a factory with all women. I could not go to the grocery store until he came home from work and took me. Long story short, I left him....not until he knocked me down and cut the side of my hair off. His mother stayed home and took care of the farm and by god his wife was going to do the same. Thank God I got out alive. I'm married now to one that won't let me quit working...now my first isn't looking so bad LOL...(I'm just kidding)

I broke up with mine. though it was more of going into hiding for about 2 month than anything. I couldn't handle it anymore. If he wants to control something tell him to but a video game not date a woman.
