Do you know the true meaning of Christmas? It seems less and less people actually think about Jesus every year. They're thinking of presents. Children are cheering Santa's name as if the holiday is in favor of him. Jesus must feel so left out and sad, when it's His birthday in the first place. Consider that. Place a tiny present under the tree for Jesus. Just for Him. For no one else. Think of Him. He'll treasure that.

God Bless You and Merry Christmas.

God Bless you and Merry Christmas. I agree with you completely. It started quite a few years ago by taking Christ out of Christmas and replacing him with an "X". You know what "X" stands for in algebra. The unknown..

To be brutally honest, Christmas was not linked to Jesus until much later in history.

Christmas Day, December 25, is actually placed around the time of Yule/Winter Solstice, as well as the Roman holiday "Saturnalia", or the Return of Saturn.

Due to early celebrations of Solstice, it only later became tradition to celebrate the birth of Christ on the 25th - it is this was likely to help Romans make the transition to Christianity from their prior beliefs, and not have to completely rework the scheduling of accustomed celebrations.

Winter Solstice, usually falling between December 21 and 25, most often on the 21, the shortest day of the year, has been celebrated for centuries as the passing of the old year, celebrating the Return of the Sun. Many will celebrate the Winter Solstice, or Yule, a few days after the shortest day, so the Return can properly be documented.

Due to the celebrations already "scheduled" as it were, the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ was added, likely due to the connotation of the rising of the Sun (or in the case of Christ, Son). I have heard people say this may have been a translation error.

The two documents I have offered links to offer more information.

Regardless of the fact that I am not Christian, I also lament the commercialization of a holiday that should be in remembering loved ones, spending time with loved ones, and fostering a sense of peace, goodwill, and the celebration of the return of a season of birth.
So few feel the love of giving, and only see themselves getting gifts.

Though I would say instead of buying Jesus a new scarf, why not offer something to someone who will feel no love this season - give something of yourself to someone who has nothing, or no one, and do it because Jesus would have done the same.

Thank YOu so much. Tiny Jesus reminds me of Tiny Tim who was sweet, dear, and disabled and oh so loveable. Little story here. Everyone was shopping and the store was crowded and everyone stampeded over the Santa Claus causing him to fall and be trampled upon. Everyone was looking for a great sale, or a gift. When the store closed, a security guard noticed a bright light, and then he went to it, and lo and behold that "santa claus" was the Divine Baby Jesus! everyone trampled and ran over. Oh how precious he is. Christ be our Light. Shine in the darkness.

we owe so much and HE asks so little. but perhaps the best gift we can give JESUS is love. doing for others and showing we care what happens to them in emulation of what HE did for us. confess I have very little wealth in material goods because I really don't care as I am the wealthiest man in the world as I have family and friends.
