I just rented this game from Blockbuster, and I personally, before I went on line and read the reviews, didn't like the game right off. It got some of the worst reviews of and Box game out there. Sonic is hard to control, and it's difficult to make him go where you want him to go. But I say don't knock it til you try it for yourself.

It kinda depends. Do you like Sonic games? Is this the latest game or is the one that has all the "old school" Sonic games on it?
I've only played newer games in the store so I could never really concentrate but I just bought the Mega Collection and I like it because it gives you hints (well, I already knew them but the thought counts) and some neat Sonic extras.
I'd say rent whatever game you want first before you commit to purchasing it, regardless of it being "old" or "new school"
