I always get a little something for my supervisor ( try to keep it under $25 - then it doesn't seem like a bribe or brown nosing). If you feel you need to do something for everyone else, either purchase or make a cookie/desert platter. Leave it on the break room counter with one simple card letting people know you brought the cookies and are wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.

Damn good question! More people should ask it, or think about it. The first year at a job is the worst. You really have no clue. What I do is carry a small selection of non-gender based cards and gifts. (Pens, decorative items like lucite paperweights with things like unicorns, rainbows, etc., window "flashers", (The little stained glass things with the suction cups on them.) day planners, that type of thing. The cards just say stuff like happy holiday or seasons greetings. Some have gift cards for local stores for small amounts for when I get stumped as what to give them in return. Each card and gift has a sticky note so I can remember what is in it.
If someone gives me a gift or card, I have something I can give them fairly quickly that matches the type of item they gave me. I have not missed yet with this approach, and it's not very expensive. You can re-cycle most items to the next year, or for other occasions like birthdays. (Just change the wrapping.)
When I'm in "suck-up" mode I do carry some some slightly better stuff for management. (Nothing over $25.00) Just in case, mind you. It's better to play CYA than to try and play catch-up if you made a mistake.

We just start brining in food about 2 weeks before christmas and eat through new years. We usually do a group gift for the manager.

I'd at least give your supervisor a card. As for everyone else, you'll probably have to give either all of them a card or none of them, in the spirit of playing fair. In my experience, none of my employees passed out cards to each other, but I may or may not receive cards from them.

Send them to their house, and if there's someone you want to impress, give them the gift there.

I personally don't bother. But if you send them, I think they should be sent to home addresses.
