i think obituary, deicide, gorgoroth, bolt thrower, and behemoth all rule quite alot, not my fave metal.. but still metal! :D
but i think dimmu is a little more blackish, than death,.... cool question!
Btw, @ dan; 3/4 of those arent even proper death metal, some of them arent death metal at all, your copy and pasted a-z list of "supposed death metal" is not impressing anyone.

Ok, comment time. First off, Death Metal is not emo. Completely different sound and completely different subculture. Also, Dan, your copy and pasted list impresses and fools no one. A lot of the bands on that list aren't even death metal and/or they suck really bad.

I'm definately a metal head but I can't stand 90 percent of death metal. Behemoth is pretty intense live though...

I think the only true DEATH METAL band worth listening to is the band DEATH its self...wouldn't you agree.
Oh and by the way if you don't like metal don't answer the dam question! I/we don't care if you like Hip/Hop. Well done for you if you do, what do you want....a medal!
