James Bond was an American ornithologist, bird expert, who wrote a book called "Birds of the West Indies." Ian Fleming used that name for his spy hero since Fleming thought is sounded so bland.
In the last Pierce Brosnan Bond film, Die Another Day, Bond is in the office of the Cuban sleeper agent and borrows some binoculars and a book. The book he takes is "Birds of the West Indies," written by James Bond.
