He talks and curses the mom out all the time, but do they just ignore him or what?

They don't hear or understand him most of the time. Only Brian does all the time. However every once in awhile (when it's convienent for the story) the fmaily does hear and understand him. Don't try to make sense out of it though, it's just a fun cartoon.

They do, but Lois shrugs it off and just thinks he is being fussy. Thanks for your answer to my question. I added some details. Family Guy is very funny, and Stewie or Brian are probably most people's favorite character. But i'm not speaking for everyone, just from what i've heard. I love Robot Chicken, it cracks me up everytime I watch it. I love when they do the t.v bloopers.

I think they think what he is saying is "baby talk" when he is getting smart with them. But, they do hear him when he says "mom" or "dad"., Other than that, Brian the dog hears everything that he says. Which is odd because they do hear Brian, and he is the family dog. Funny, huh?
So, you can say that they do ignore him because he is only a baby, but, you can also say that they only hear what he only wants them to hear-vice versa.

Actually, I've interviewed Seth MacFarlane -- the creator of "Family Guy" -- and according to him it's one of those things where "Yes, they hear him" but they don't really listen to him or take him seriously because he's the baby. Kind of a "Oh, isn't that cute. Kids say the darndest things" deal.

They dont hear him talking- its all baby babble to them,. That is why Lois offers him something to eat when he throws fits- eventhough stewie is yelling saying he is going to kill her one day she said "Aww Stewie must be hungry- you need some more meat?"...

Brian understands him though!

The writers choose when they can't and when they can. LOL! It's quite a random show. I used to watch it because Seth Green made the voice of Chris. Has anyone ever watched Robot Chicken?.....

Sorry for dozing from the question there! LOL!

I think they do,but they just think "Oh it's just Stewie being cranky again" lol. In other words, they just kind of ignore it.
