My friends is almost anorexic. What I mean by almost is that I just started noticing and she hasent completly developed the disorder. I have gone through anorexia and im trying to help her. But I have a question...My friend is obese. So is this still called anorexia? Or does it have another name?

it is still considered anorexia no matter her size I was anorexic and I was still only a few pounds underweight and it can still have serious effects try to explain not eating is not go to help her it's just going to make her more depressed or try explaning your expierences with anorexia and maybe offering to diet and work out with her might help her release there are much better ways to lose weight

I hope this will help you and her can you message me if when she gets better I just don't want her to have to expierence the horrors of anorexia

You've said nothing about your friend's behavior. However, you feel that she "hasn't completely developed the disorder". Either you have it or you don't. Obese or not, if she's anorectic, she's anorectic. If she's bulimic, she's bulimic. You haven't given enough information about her behaviors to tell. Speak to her parents or have one of your own parents talk to hers. You'll be doing her the favor of a lifetime. You're a good friend.

FYI: The term used to describe someone with anorexia is anorectic, not anorexic.

if you are concerned about your friends health in the sense that you think she is going from one extreme to the other then you should have a heart to heart with her and let her know what you have been noticing. Talk to her about your experience as an anorexic and let her know that you will be there for her. It doesn't matter what its called only that she is going through a medical problem.

She might just be on a diet because she feels left out of activities because of her weight. Try to talk to her and tell her that it is unhealthy to not eat anything at all. Try telling her that a healthy diet will be better. I should know, I have it right now and am trying to feel better! I wish you luck. :) I am not overweight, I'm beginning to get very scrawny, and starting today I eat very healthy. Lol :)

anorexia means that when you look in a mirror you see a fat person, (even if you weigh 80 lbs.) so you don't eat.
