My daughter is 10 & very talented in writing. I need to find out how to get children's work read & published.

I also write poetry. Get the book called "the poets market 2006" it has tons of publishing companies and step by step instructins on getting published. Also check out this site.....www.soyouwanna.com, go to publish poetry.

Great question. I'm so glad you are supporting your daughter this way.

I've done some poety that is in anthologies. A lot of those are ones where you send them in. They accept them, then write back and ask you to buy a $50 book so you can see it in print. I never bought one. But it could be a great boost for an aspiring young writer.

Not all anthologies are made based on collection of the equivalent of user fees to get your poem in. Here is a link to a lady who collect poems for anthologies to whom I've submitted before.

keep your eyes out for writing contests in your comunity or find a list of local editors and publishers and arrange a meeting with them where you and your daughter can present your daughter's work (bring her along). they might like it. If they don't move on. Dr. Seuss got rejected by 30 publishing companies before someone humored him and he became a big hit. Keep trying. I'll keep a look out for her work ^.^
