I have been very tender down there and had thick white discharge ( no odor). I am married and have been for 1 and a 1/2 years and with the same person for 4 years. So I know it is not an STD. I just need your advise on what could be causing it. Yeast infection or something else.

is it cottage cheese in consistency? do you itch? does it burn when you pee? is it plentiful this discharge? is there redness? if you do have these symptoms it is a yeast infection. i hear that you can put yogurt in your vagina and it will help the infection. also, if it's just thick and white it could be your cervical mucus, but it shouldn't feel tender if that's the case. gl.

Chances are that if there is no odor to your discharge than its nothing but a case of discharge. Unfortunately, if you have been bit tender down there it could be. I would suggest calling your doctor. They will probably recomend that you come in for an exam or that you just start using a medication for it. My suggestion would be monestat supposatories. Its less of a pain in the *** then a cream.

If you are itchy then more than likely yes. If not maybe you should get checked. Try the over the counter meds and if they don't work then definatly get checked out they also make a medicated douche with iodine in it that works real well. It's called vagi- gaurd with iodine and it's for itching and tenderness.

are you also experiencing itchiness? if you are than it is more than likely a yeast infection. however, if you have never had one before, it is best to make a appointment with the doctor to be sure, then if you get one again you'll know what to look for.

sex can cause it. when you treat it don't have sex for a week after it is gone. yeast grows in dark, damp places. try to wear cotton panties. and don't wear tight pants. that can cause infections too.

itching? if so try using one of the over the counter medications. if that doesn't work you can take acidophilus to get rid of it.
