when a court case is disposed, it means that an order was never issued and the case thrown out basicly. such as a motion not being filed or a hearing not attended to by either party.

best example i can think of is....say one party files for divorce, the other party never responds, and the original party never files for an order default. so the case in just open. so the judge closes the case with no outcome.

It means that a final settlement or determination has been made in the case. It usually means the case is closed (pending any appeals). This could be for any number of reasons.
