I mean the one that gets you all excited like you are little again. Mine was feeling all cosy christmas eve sat infront of the telly. Knowing that i wouldnt be able to get to sleep. Then waking up Christmas morning and my mum and dad had got all the presents down, from where they had been hid. Then having a party at my uncle and aunties and being given a tinsy winsy drop of alcohol.
Its just a pity that time goes so fast and many people who used to be with us have passed away.

My best memories of Christmas will always be when my children were small. Our Christmas used to start about a week before the 25th Dec. The kids were given small little rubbish toys, those that break within a minute and that continued until Christmas day. Early Christmas morning they would be in our bedroom looking all sleepy and cute. They knew their presents would be piled up and then we would all go down , camera and all, we would watch them open their presents and take photo's of them without them knowing and seeing the pleasure on their faces were fantastic. It never was expensive gifts like computers etc but always something they really wanted. They would then go back to bed with chocolates , biscuits whatever they wanted and read their annuals. Those were good times and i will always treasure them.

It was 1937 or perhaps 38 - a particularly cold year. Martha was cooking the goose and as she bent down to take a peek at it in the oven, I was overcome as i caught a glimpse of her stocking top. Times were hard, and nylons were scarce, but that didn't stop me. The two sweet sherries I'd had since returning from chruch provided my with a new-found courage. I ripped her stockings off her, revealing the milky white flesh of her thighs, threw her over the kitchen table, and oh oh oh - my heart! sorry, I'll have to stop there and go and lie down. Sorry. Goodnight.

Opening a row of flashes at twevle years old. My only wish had been for a camera and I had open so many other wonderful gifts but was destressed at no camera. The flashes let me know a camera would follow! I had tried not to seem ungrateful, my mother says may face was a picture!

Walking thru' the old arcade in Colchester with my mum. It would be wet underfoot where people had walked in their snowy boots, - the smell of real Christmas trees, huge lights & 'Winter Wonderland' playing. To a 3yr old that arcade WAS the winter wonderland!
