What do you think about the Browns drafting Troy Smith at the end of the year? Would you rather see Troy attempt to run our offense or Frye or even Anderson?? Many say Smith's size will be a problem only being around 5'11" but in my opinion I would love to see his arm strength and athletic ability run the offense?

While Troy Smith is listed at 6'1" he is def. smaller, upon standing next to him Ill give him 5'11"

Isn't Troy Smith 6'1"....but anyways....

Browns should stick with Frye because he knows the system and the offense really well. This upcoming year is not a good year for quaterbacks because only the Raider's might be interested in drafting a quaterback (which I hope they don't pick up).

Their are several things that well help the Browns out next year.....

1. LeCharles Bentley comes back and provides a big boost for our O-Line.

2. Drafting a gurad or a defensive tackle (Allen Branch) might be something they should consider

3. Let Ruben Droughns start, he ran for a 1000+ yards last season, come on Romeo Cernell, let him start!

4. Braylon Edwards well be on fire next season just watch...

5. The defense has done an okay job and our rookie is looking great (Wimbely) so they just need to be consistent.

What does all this mean?

SUPER BOWL BABY!

While I agree that Troy Smith is not the answer in Cleveland for all of the reasons sited, I do not believe that a better running back is the answer either.

If Cleveland wants to rise to be one of the top teams in the NFL they need to work on building their offensive line. Frye or Anderson have been sacked more than just about any ofher QB in league. With more time they could patiently scan the field and patiently wait for someone to get open.

Also, Droughns isn't the best RB but behind a good offensive line an average running back can look great. Just look at what Denver has been doing all of these years.

Concentrate on the OL and the defense and you can win Super Bowls; i.e. New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers; and the hated Balimore Ravens.

By the way, I'm a Steelers fan and enjoy the rivalry with the Browns but really want to see you guys step it up a notch. I respect the Browns but I hate the Bungles and the dirty birds of Baltimore.... traitorous bunch.

Let me preface it like this: I'm a die-hard Browns fan, I may bash them a little, but still true to them.

Drafting Troy Smith will be a good option...for trade bait. He won't be the answer to our problems. LeCharles STILL probably won't be back because he's having surgery a second time because his knee isn't healing right. That means he'll miss season #2 and we'll have to keep Fraley for another year (which I'm fine with). But we have to get an O-line...bottom line. You cannot run any type of offense without one. Remember when we got Garcia and a 'mobile' QB was supposed to be the answer? It wasn't. If the line sucks, everything else falls apart too.

If we made some off season acquisitions and trades, then I wouldn't mind seeing Troy there. He could do it. Size or not, he could do it. I just don't want to be the city that ruins his career because he was running for his life all day getting smashed into the ground. And Northcutt and Ralph Brown need to be shipped to the CFL or something. They have no business on our team.

I think that the raiders or the lions, or whoever gets picks 1-3 will pick either Troy Smith (because he won the Heisman) or Brady Quinn (because of the hype). So i don't think that the browns will have a chance to get Troy Smith. If they do, then i would MUCH rather see Troy Smith run the offense than those sissies Frye and Anderson.

I think Troy Smith would be an excellent asset to the Browns. Smith is a fast thinker and can make plays out of nothing; this is what helped him win the Heisman. With the Brown's terrible Offensive line, they need a quarterback that can make plays happen quickly, and flawlessly. Frye can't scramble or make plays immediately. Smith can take the constant pounding allowed by the OL and he will also get rid of the ball before he takes a sack for a loss. To really solve the Brown's quarterback problems, a much, much better OL in necessary though.

I feel Troy is too small to be an effective QB in the NFL. Brady Quinn has the best makeup for a pro QB, but I have some doubts on him as well. The Browns will be better served to draft a RB or a defensive back in this draft and let some other team find the flaws in Troy.

I feel like Troy Smith could be gone before the Browns even get a shot at him. I think the Raiders wanted Vince Young last year and Troy Smith is this years Vince Young. I feel the Raiders will ignore the height issue and select Troy Smith. I could see the Browns going with Brady Quinn though.

I would rather see Smith run Cleveland's offense, he may only be 5' 11'', but if you look at Ohio State's centers, they are some big guys, they average 6' 7'', so if Troy Smith is as good as he is with those centers, i don't think the NFL will be a problem

In my opinion, Troy Smith will make a better Randle El type player than a Quarterback. Plus, watching Thursday's game against Pittsburgh, Anderson is a stud of a QB, but the WR and TEs couldn't catch a cold in the South Pole. I like Troy Smith, but I think he will be a Randle El type guy and yes Cleveland should draft him.

Drafting Troy is not going to fix the problems with the Browns. Frye has only been the starter for one year and is still learning. They have a great TE and a Great WR, they need a better RB then they currently have, and a better def.
