My mom will feel my belly and say that my daughter has the hiccups, but it really doesn't feel that different to me then the regular punches, kicks and turns. She is a very active little girl! So how do I know if she is having hiccups?

The hiccups were hard for me to understand at first too..by the end of my pregancy I knew. Her kicks were strong and you could see them on the outside but the hiccups come in rapid succession and it will not be a few movements in say 30 seconds but like 10 movements in 30 seconds. They feel like constant movements that are very close together for a minute or so in the same place.

Hiccups are a regular "kick" in the same spot. Your mom may not know if it is actually the hiccups or not, seeing as she doesn't know the way your baby moves...

Hiccups feel more rhythmic like a pulsing and would be in the same place. Kicks and punches are more sporadic and move around.

because it's a different kind of sensation...they kinda have a pace, they are regular and make your belly like move ....I don't know but I can defenately tell when she's got the hiccups.

there is more of a rhythm to the "kicking" rather than random kicks. just picture when you get hiccups and your chest goes up, down, up, down.

Repetitive movement, rhythmic, in the same area, around where you think the head it currently located.

It's doubtful she is. Sounds like an old wife's tale to me.
