im sure many of you have watched Willie Wonka and the Chocolate factory. I have and when i do i ask myself - why are the oompa loompas in the factory? Is it because of all of the chocolate that they get? Or is it because they are safer there? Or perhaps it is because they have grown close to Willie Wonka. Or maybe it's all three... what do you guys think?

The real reason that they dont want you to know, is that Willy gets free slave labor out of them. It's almost like bringing a homeless girl in your house from off the streets, and then put her out to work as a hooker in exchange for a place to live. Meanwhile, willy wonka says he's protecting them from some sort of monster that terrorized their home. Yeah right.

In the book, and in both movies, Wonka explains the Oompa Loompas were getting gobbled up left and right, so they chose to go with Willy Wonka. So, yes, it's probably all three by now.

NO If you actually read the book instead of just watching the movie, you know that the Oompa Loompas work in partnership with Willy Wonka because of an alien force that seeks to destroy them. (see Charlie and the Great Glass Evelvator)

Didn't Wonka explain in the video that something happened in the oompa land where they were in danger and so they work in his factory for safety and because they are grateful for a place to stay?

They are there to get away from the Snozzwangers and Whangdoodles and Vermicious Knids. That's why, in the book. I don't think there was mention of chocolate. I'll bet they do like Willy Wonka, so it's probably that and the safety thing.

I think maybe they were created by willie wonka or somethin. Or maybe they just like to help out and thats why they are in the factory to help him.
