i have a shower with my ex, his brother and an old friend from highschool. nothing is going on.... just very casually walking in and out and saying hello, like we would have if we saw eachother on the street. my ex and his brother have no relation to and dont know the other person from high school. what does this mean?

Think of dreaming as the clearing house of all the flotsam in your mind - things you think about consciously and subconsciously. The current thinking is that dreams don't really mean anything. Your dream is probably just a collection of random thoughts you had recently conglomerated into a scene via free-association.
An exception to this is if you have had this as a recurring dream. These can occur when the dreamer is obsessing about something.
So, unless you keep having the same dream over and over again, you can probably safely disregard it - it probably has no real meaning.

it could be a number of different thoughts or emotions. Trying out in your fantasy something you would not do in waking life (shower with 3 guys!) but the other part of this is your filing and grouping the association of friend from high school into this group.
Seems a pretty healthy and mild dream... ( the shower scene from psycho, still terrifies me!)

There was this guy I used to be totally obsessed w/ and I promised myself not to think about him so much anymore. And whenever we dream about something or someone, sometimes it's because we thought about it sometime during the day or when we were going to sleep. (I've heard that dreams are your brain's way of sorting through all your thoughts.) So maybe you've been thinking about these people or they might have crossed your mind without your even knowing it. Whenever I dream about that guy I mentioned earlier, I know that I must have let him into my mind for a little longer than I should have and I might need to work on that and let other better things in. hope I helped.

Well..they have something to do with you. Perhaps you fear others walking in on you in that precarious state..like his brother..or your old friend.
Because he's your ex..you might not want others walking in on you because you feel some shame about losing him..and being naked. That might be the reason for being in the shower as the setting.
I am a licensed therapist. Dreams are usually about peoples fears.

It probably means nothing too big, just that the three people will or have had some sort of impact on your life, and it's time to thank them. If you don't know your ex's brother, try to meet him. People are not in your dreams for no reason!

It means that you see these people as friends only and do not view them sexually in any way. Which can only be a good thing seeing as your brother was there....

they wouldnt need to know the other person as it is your dream...Your dream could well be showing you how comfortable you are with those you have chosen to be with...if you are undressed in the dream then you are uninhibited and relaxed...
