They both are great sources of influence. I like music that speaks to me about a message through personal strength and sacrifice. Triumph and tragedy, worldwide fame or home town doesnt know your name. It all correlates. Hip Hop is my favorite when done right. Rock was the thang back in the day and still is today. I think both will stand the test of time. Funk, rhythm, message, back beat, poetry, dont change none of it. Hip Hop is holding its own and will continue to inlfuence as it grows stronger.
Hip Hop grows with consicousness ingiting the struggle. Rock defines controversy and rebellion. Forevermore.....

Hip hop is sweet . R&B is the purely right and Rock I do exactly not get it. Reggae is okay for extra or less twenty minutes, jazz is sweet from time to time, B'way musical music is sweet too....yet universal i'd ought to furnish it to R&B...what's more effective than Stevie ask your self, Motown, Luther, James Brown, Sam Cooke, Mary J., Whitney? Sorry, they have were given the products...oh sure and Aretha? Tina? Shaka Kahn? R&B wins. Hip Hop samples a lot from R&B. good question. Have a hey!

at this time in music yes it is cuz hip hop is just getting to shallow and is filled with more wannabes then rock where the wannabes don't even make it, and again where anybody can get signed in hip hop now

But it also depends cause most black people are into Hip Hop music. And white people are more into Rock music.
